After my transplant I was in situations out of my control. All I can put is it came down to negligible after care. I ended up with two litres of fluid in my lungs coz my output was not measured properly. Then the same people took my staples out on day 8 post surgery which is way too early I got home and my entire wound opened up on me. After being left for 3 days with an open wound I was told I would be taken back to the hospital that performed the surgery so I could go back to theatre and have the wound deep cleaned and re closed. That also never happened I was lay on a bed in an unsterile room when a doctor came in and stitched me back up with no anaesthetic or anything. I know have horrendous nightmares and apparently PTSD. I feel robbed of a second chance as I don’t want to leave my home or see anyone. If I have to go to transplant clinic as soon as I get near the hospital my BP shoots up and I feel sick and absolutely panic stricken. I don’t know what to do I want the old me back and I can’t find her.

They are one of the leading centres for transplant in the UK 😔
I understand everyone's skin condition varies and the opening can happen. Nut I don't understand why they stitched you up with no anaesthetic? Did you ask for it?
I didn’t have chance to say anything. As I said I was told I was being taken back to theatre so they could deep clean the wound as it was open for 3 days and the close up but that never happened xxx
