Six months after my 2nd kidney transplant I started rejecting and they discovered I had the BK virus so they took mr off MMF and kept me on Adoport and added Prednisolone which is now at 10mg per day and have been on this now for 18 months and have been told I will have to stay on this dose always . Not only is this causing severe problems with my T1 diabetes by making me more resistant to insulin and unpredictable but my skin is constantly tearing, bruising and bleeding and looks frankly awful together with the weight gain.
Has anyone had another regime to control the BK virus as I am desperate and there is no sign of it in my blood test now. I have had this transplant nearly three years.
