It’s Nice for Mice to get out of the House

I’ve had an interesting few days, I also appologise for breaking my promise, as we are still in Tourette’s Syndrome Awareness month and I haven’t been blogging everyday as I said I would.

It’s been an interesting few days from both a ticcy perspective and other events. I did have a cold a few days ago, colds seem to have a strange effect on my tics, they seem to subside, I’m not quite the ticcy monster who is constantly moving, well I am, but slower. I’ve also acquired a new cat, but I’ve probably told you that already and my brother came to stay. It’s always good to see him, like me he’s a creative soul who enjoys the company of similar minded people, also like me he was never cool at school, and this song reminds me of him, and cheers me up when I’m down. youtube.com/watch?v=rYERq8H...

We had a day out on Monday – we went to Cadbury’s World, we have been both harboring an addiction to “Dairy Milk”.cadburyworld.co.uk/CADBURYW... If you’re going to go out for what is in essence a day out for kids when there are non around (unfortunately it wouldn’t make a suitable day out for cats). We were however a bit disappointed, we did hope to see some chocolate making, and as we are adults we know that Oompa-Loompas aren’t real despite the ticcy beast within deciding that the actual human Cadbury’s employees were Oompa-Loompas.

For those not in the know,(if so you must be an alien and I’d like to met you) you should either read Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or if you’re too busy there are two film adaptations of the book, one of the by the excellent Tim Burton. This isn’t the first time the ticcy beast within has wanted to point out these choclotiers, one time whilst traveling home from London I sat opposite two friendly, chatty guys, one from Coventry and one from Birmingham. The Coventrian sci-fi fan said that he like “piano rock” ???!!! “Er like Ben Folds?” “amongst others, yes” (see vid) my other fellow traveler as it turned out worked for Cadbury’s, as did his father and grandfather before him, he also lived in Bourneville (village built for Oompa-Loompas) and was tanned from a Greek holiday, so yes, my ticcy brain decided that he was an Oompa-Loompa, luckily he though it was quite funny and is still one of my Facebook friends. Back to Cadbury’s world my brother pointed out a sign “No photos or videos allowed” (or something similar, I can’t remember) and says “who do they think we are? Slugworth?” (refer again to “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”) so of course rather like when I’m at busy stations and the ticcer beast shouts “BOMB!!!!” the ticcy beast thought it would be wise to let the Oompa-Loompas know that there may be some industrial espionage occurring “HEY SLUGWORTH!” or “I’M SLUGWORTH” (see picture) Luckily my brother has a much lower embarrassment factor than Pete (my partner, they’re both called Pete) and laughed with me rather than at me which is what usually happens. Luckily there weren’t any children around as it was a school day so we almost had the place to ourselves so I wasn’t so conscious about coprolalia around children and the Oompa-Loompas seemed to take me in their stride, but then again, we were two jovial chocolate-scoffing Welshies who usually see the funny side of most things.
