I’m not really feeling very energetic today, but it is important that I get your attention and we do something. If you’ve been keeping your eye on what’s going on you’ll know that the Welfare Reform Bill will be back in the House of Commons on Wednesday, and of course some clever clogs reckon that they can push it through regardless of the amendments that the Lords made. If I had had the money I would have been down in London at the weekend joining in with the protests guardian.co.uk/uk/video/201... but I just managed to get to Birmingham for our group meeting. However if you’d like to have one last attempt at trying to keep those amendments that the House of Lords put into place here’s how you can help – The good people behind the Spartacus campaign have written some letter templates that you can send to your local MP, so please follow the link, click on the relevant letter link and tweak as appropriate adding your own personal story relating to the amendments. wearespartacus.org.uk/
That’s about it for now; I did spy this picture (the one at the top earlier) thanks to Sue Marsh’s wonderful blog diaryofabenefitscrounger.bl... whilst listening to the late, great Ian Dury. I wonder what he would be making of these reforms. youtube.com/watch?v=6isXNVd...
