CGRP Inhibitors and RLS
I can't handle the side-effects of

Am I an "outlier"?
Simply wanted to report on what happened after I stopped taking Prednisone. I was diagnosed with PMR in August, 2022 and put on 13 mg of prednisone daily and 70mg of Fosamax, once weekly (to counter the bone loss associated with prednisone), In the fall of 2023, I finally got down to 1mg of prednisone

Fosamax phobia
I have thinning of the femoral neck -2.8 and the recommended treatment for my osteoporosis is either Fosamax or Antonel. Frankly, I have been hesitant to treat this condition. In reviewing the side effects, both appear to have adverse effects on the G.I. System. I already suffer with irritable bowel

Very Exciting News!
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis one year ago: lumbar spine -4.6, hip -3.3, -3 5 respectively. Today--at my request--I had a follow-up. I have basically been pharmaceutical drug-free, though, I did take about 9 doses of Fosamax at two different times, the last being in September. For reference, google

Calcium D3 Supplements
Are any of you diagnosed with Osteoporosis taking supplements, Calcium, D3, K, etc. even though blood tests show normal range? I have been advised it is not necessary to take supplements if blood tests normal. Too much Calcium may increase risk of other health issues. My PCP advises taking multivitamin

The local Thai psychiatrist has tried me on
topamax
and then gabapentin as off label use to try and help me to reduce my heavy drinking, but to no avail. I am lost and suffering with mental health issues also.

Six compression fractures in lower spine
I've had six compression fractures in the last three months, all treated with kyphoplasties. On Fosamax and calcium citrate plus vitamin D3. Dexa score is -2.9. Should I be on something stronger?

Last dexa was good news
Two years ago my left femoral was -2.9, well into the osteoporosis range and my spine was .6, but nobody really knows what's going on with my spine because bone spurs which they've seen on a ct can make your spine look much better than it is. My doctor immediately suggested fosamax, but I wanted to

He initially put me on
topamax
, but I found that I was becoming a little bit psychotic. Maybe not psychotic, but feeling a total lack of interest in everything, and increased anxiety and insomnia. I have stopped taking the
topamax
, after 1 month of taking it.

Bone Density Scan
How often is it recommended to have a Bone Density Scan? Mine was about a year and a half ago. Endocrinologist is really pushing the Prolia. I have concerns about it. She verified that after stopping it I would be at risk for spine fractures and have to get on something else. I'm just wondering if

Being Told You Have Osteo .... But Cancer...
Being told I have osteo makes me fear life and old age. It is devastating to say the least. But let me tell you this... being told I have cervical cancer and I am just beginning my fight never made me feel more alive. All the "stuff" just falls away and the value of life never so strong. I am now
