I think it is up to the GP - a girl on here recently went private but her GP was willing to do all her tests on the NHS. Maybe I'm wrong and there are guidelines somewhere but I've never come across them.
What sort of relationship do you have with your GP - could you not ask him/her the question and why are you going private anyway?
My daughter recently went to see a private endo having medical cover with BUPA he suggested he put all her bloods and scans through NHS to save her costs. Although she saw him at a private vlinic he also consults at our local hospital. If don't get anywhere soon with my gp I may take up the option of seeing him on a private basis in the hope he run a lot with nhs
Hi If seeing a private endo ,or any private consultant, then they write to the GP and tell them what tests to do, what to prescribe and any hospitals scans etc. Sometimes you have to ask them to do them NHS but never a problem,
