Mercury Pharma is simply a relabelling due to company changing name from Goldshield.

Their products have NOT changed.

Any variation would be within the company's usual Quality Control standards.

Have a read here:

If you believe it is the actual tablets being different, then this needs to be taken up with Mercury Pharma and the MHRA.

I believe it is reasonable to use the Yellow Card report here:

yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

You may also want to talk to the pharmacy which dispensed them. And, if it is not too late, retain at least a couple of tablets from each blister pack plus all packaging. That would allow analysis.

Perhaps you just need an increase in dose?

Absolutely, greygoose.

That is the other obvious possibility. Especially as the past couple of months have been very cold and * some * people feel the need for slightly more in the winter.

Even if you decide to report, you should also see your GP and get re-tested.

Of course, don't miss our usual suspects!

vitamin B12

folates

iron/ferritin

vitamin D

All can have their own effects - and you'd expect D to be at its lowest around about now!

By the way, if you click on the blue "Reply to this", the person you are responding to gets an alert email so knows you have replied. That is also why this response will be indented from your post. :-)

Ahhhhh, but what do you mean by 'good'? 'Good' is not a medical diagnosis, it's just somebody's opinion. Do you have a copy of your results? Could we have a peep at them, please (with ranges, of course)?

I have had problems since rebranding too. During this process last summer Goldfield was not available for 3 to 4 weeks and my pharmacist put me on to a brand manufactured at a Goldshield facility. When my condition became unbalanced I was not surprised however I am finding it difficult to regain the balance I once had on combined t3 t4. My pharmacist tells me that the manufacture has been moved to a different facility. The facility that used to produce Goldshield is no longer being used to manufacture Levothyroxin. As I seem to be extremely sensitive to minor changes in my meds I do wonder if this change may be all it takes with me. At least I know that if I keep with the 1 brand it will eventually level out but have been back to both the consultants for my eyes and muscles which have both been affected. My fear is that I do not return to the same physical health each time I have an episode like this and no real answers to why I am so affected. Is anyone else finding that little things can be devastating?

Hope you get back to health soon.

Hi Tdcco wow it sounds like me . It's a pain I was going so well for the first time in years and now I'm in bed by 9 pm and a nightmare to live with . I wish they could figure out what causes this ! Hope you get sorted soon too x

Thanks I in process of gathering data from all my additional consultants ( dry eye and varying pressure changes, muscle myopathy in particular). These conditions change with my thyroid balance. We do not have an endo in our area who specializes in thyroid, they are all diabetes. My guy has TUK webite address and listens to me and I have heard on grapevine he is asking other patients about symptoms I am telling him about. He has given me T3 but is very cautious because he says there are conflicting reports on success rates. I have persevered over 12 years pushing all the docs to get to bottom of it all, so now I know what the condition has cost me physically and enough is enough. I am not in a position to go private so here I am fighting to be sent out of the area to a thyroid specialist. Appointment with GP in 2 weeks. Will post how I get on. Will look out for news on how you are doing. Good luck.
