Since joining the group I have had so much good advice and feel so much better.I first came on here after getting a normal diagnosis you don't need an increase when my Tsh was 2.73 and ft4 14.6 (10.0-22.0) was advised to go back to docs and get an increase so I went back got an increase to 125mcg my tongue was still swollen and scalloped, carpal tunnel weird numbness which was anxiety apparently.Lots of sore throats started taking 150mcg of my own accord didn't tell my doctor so when blood tests were done and Tsh was 0.5 (0.35-5.0) ft4 was 15 doctors agreed for me to have an increase. So far I have been approx 4 weeks on higher dose and am starting to feel better if it wasn't for this site I'd still be on 100mcg with such awful symptoms.Would love to have a go on t3 iron out the last few niggles at the moment things feel liveable touch wood. But just not having a tongue the size of a brick is better.Things are not perfect but they are good.

A big thank you to all those that put so much research and time into logging the info into a readable manner. You have undoubtedly changed many lives mine definetly this up may be short lived but for now it feels good xx

People on this site can only advise and suggest and its then up to you to put that advise to good use, so well done you for taking the advise on board and doing something constructive with it.

It is entirely possible that you could have a further increase since you are still within the range IF you have some symptoms still after your body adjusts to the T4. Have you had other things checked like your B12, Iron Vit D? Do you take supplements to help with conversion and support adrenals?

That is good news! Well done for persevering and educating your doctor. You may find that you need a further slight increase if you are still experiencing symptoms after another few weeks.

I agree with Poppy03 that it is a good idea to get the tests she suggests I would also recommend folate, serum iron and ferritin as well. They are all important for your body to function correctly and to use the thyroid hormones you are taking.

I hope you continue to improve :)

Hi, How long has it taken to see an improvement in the size of your tongue? I got up to 200mcg of Levo and no improvement. Now on NDT and Levo and my tongue just won't shrink!

Well done for using your knowledge and getting a good outcome!
