and now being told likely to be linked to my thyroid as cannot get my levels right I have been told my blood tests show high glucose levels one gp told me type 2 diabetes went back for a second opinion and now being told likely to be linked to my thyroid as cannot get my levels right - can this cause high glucose?

Hi It can be linked in a way as diabetes is auto immune and hormonal. However , make sure you get a copy of all blood tests and ranges. There are 2 tests, glucose and better Hb1 Ac. If out you certainly need both. If borderline the GP will probably not treat it but repeat the test. In that case you should have the diabetic diet.If out of range it need treatment with drugs and diabetic diet. The diabetic diet is not how it used to be, see the UK site and the American one. Mainly lots of green vegetables, low protein and little fruit, no grapes.Drinks are a problem, high juice some times otherwise not fruit juice etc.

If you see a general endo they will look after your diabetes too.
