Well, according to this Wiki entry, it's the opposite:

There is an inverse relationship in the serum levels of T3 and CK in thyroid disease. In hypothyroid patients, with decrease in serum T3 there is a significant increase in CK. Therefore, the estimation of serum CK is considered valuable in screening for hypothyroid patients.[8]

According to this, the higher the creatine kinase, the lower the T3, so that makes you hypo, not hyper. Or am I missing something?

Yes, my CK levels went up to 1380 (<200) just before diagnosis as hypo in Sept. they had been raised for a few months prior to diagnosis, GP apologised and said he wasn't aware of raised CK levels being connected with hypothyroidism prior to my diagnosis.

Diagnosed end of December last year. Did you have aching and pain, did it get sorted

Yes, terrible muscle cramps and aches and pains, especially 'coat-hanger' and lower back and thigh pains. Cramps have all but gone now - Aches and pains continue, but are improving. As Jackie suggested, post your levels here with ranges and someone will comment. Karen

Hi Make sure you have also had T4 and free T3 tests and have a print out with the ranges. Surely if there is a problem ,you would be better seeing an endo, not the GP?

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi Early days so good that you are feeling a bit better. Muscles are often low vit D ( hormonal), make sure you have had a test. If low then you need a calcium test before treatment. Takes a while with repeat tests, usually permanent. Best on a script from Edno or GP but proved you have a calcium test some people treat themselves. You often need a lot!Forever. There are other useful tests if you do not feel improved ,often takes a year.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi Cheryl3245,

Hubby like you had weakened muscles and the tiredness getting worse. We suspected thyroid as I too had similar symptoms.

The Rheumatologist said Hubby's muscles were all OK and asked if he had any other symptoms, I smiled and brought out a long list of Thyroid symptoms, one which was weakened muscles, he said there was no connection, he

checked Hubby's Thyroid bloods on his computer and said 'Negative' he was wrong to tell us that as it didn't actually say 'negative' on the blood print out.

I went home did a bit of homework, checked out Creatine Kinase and found that when Creatine Kinase was reading abnormally high it had an adverse effect on your T3.

Then I googled T3 and CK and came across your Posting on here.

Our Doctor has 'listened,' she likes to learn :) and is now doing a T3 and a Vitamin D test. :) :)
