I have a lot of weight to lose, and have just embarked on the cho-yung weight lose tea. At the moment I am find it very beneficial and have managed to lose 4 lbs in two weeks. My question is this, is green tea compatible with levothyroxine, I am on 150 mcg a day, or am I going to cause myself any unnecessary harm? Thank you.

Tyroxine and green teas
I'm sorry, I don't have an answer to your question about green tea and thyroxine. I would suggest though, that it's perhaps safest not to consume your green tea at the same time as you take your thyroxine tablets. Maybe wait at least an hour after taking your thyroxine.
Have you tried a low carb diet? I have found that to be a very good way to get the weight down. It does take an awful lot of willpower to stay away from carbs, especially if you're used to consuming lots of high carb foods. But if you can stick with it you may see great results which makes it easier to keep going!

I have only just joined this site and couldn't resist this reply........told the GP most of my symptoms then the following blood test revealed extremely high cholesterol levels. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I am currently on 100mcg of levothyroxin, yet many of my symptoms persist - however, my weight gain, one of the most worrysome to me was not a concern for my doctor - as long as my blood test result shows 'NORMAL' - His job done!
I learned a little tip from somewhere which assists the body to dispose of excess ingested fats/oils (an aide to help prevent storing)
Prior to meals which may have fats/oils added during cooking, I take a tablespoonful of apple cider vinegar - I see no harm in this, it is natural with no chemicals added. for a time my weight remained stable and have begun to lose ounces and pounds slowly. I feel no adverse reaction to this. My other symptoms I guess, I must discuss with GP. PLUS - I have drank Green Tea several times per day for many months now and will continue to do so
