Something's gone wrong and I'm panicking.

I've been feeling worse and worse since the weekend really. My tiredness has been creeping back up gradually but for the last few days I've noticed the pain is coming back to my neck back and shoulders. Today my arms, fingers and legs are hurting too, worse than they've been since before starting on T3, I feel weird and a bit sick and just so, so tired.

I've been trying to carry on as normal but I just want to cry.

On Saturday I have to drive 100 miles to go and support my mum as her husband dies of cancer. I don't know how I'm going to cope and feel so guilty for thinking of myself.

I don't know if it's just the stress of what's happening with my mum and trying to support her from so far away on top of everything else I have going on?

I'm thinking of trying an extra 10mcg of T3 midday, as well as my morning and evening dose, just for few days, to help get me through - I'm desperate.

The only thing I can think of that I've changed is that I started taking Vit C and Q10 supplements last week but can't see how that can make things worse.

Excuse the moan, sometimes it just feels better to get it out!

You could try increasing your meds, - if it is too much you can always reduce it next day.

It is difficult trying to cope with things when your body seems to be under attack but I hope your T3 will work for you. Some people need to take a higher dose in order to get better.

Do you allow some hours to elapse before taking supplements?

Thanks Shaws!

Sorry about the rant, lost it for a bit! It felt like everything was closing in on me and I just needed to tell someone.

I'm feeling a little calmer now(although still feel rough), I took 10mcg of T3 when I got in from work and slept for an hour followed by something to eat, which has helped.

I will do as you say and increase my dose, only temporarily as I have another blood test in 6 weeks, just so I can get through this period. I've been taking supplements in the morning about an hour before my T3, so maybe this is an issue? I'll try to leave more time between taking my supplements.

Please don't panic! That will only make things worse. lol Sounds to me like you just need an increase in T3 anyway. If the symptoms are creeping back it's your body's way of saying more, more, more!!! Not that something has gone wrong. Hopefully, when you get that blood test, the results will show this and your doctor will increase the T3.

In the meantime, why not increase yourself temporarily? That's a good idea. You'll know if you're taking too much, but it sounds like you're only taking 20 mcg anyway (although you don't actually say) and that's a very, very small dose.

I hope your trip isn't too arduous, but think how glad your mum will be to have you there. Take care of yourself, be kind to yourself and know that we're all here for you whenever you need to have a good old moan!

Many hugs, Grey

Aaaaaw, thanks Grey!

That's actually made me quite teary lol Just shows how emotional I feel at the moment. I would never say to friends about how I feel, as I don't want to be a moaning minnie and to have people pity me, so it's nice to know I can let it all out here :)

Yes, I do need an increase and am on 20mcg along with my 50mcg of T4 but am actually arguing with the endo at the mo to stay on the 20 as he wants me to stay on the 10mcg he prescribed. I think I could easily increase but will just do this temporarily for now.

I may have to change endo's and find someone who goes more by symptoms and not TSH.

Thanks for the hugs x

I find that I am needing to extra levo. at the moment as I am also under huge stress with ill elderly mother and husband diagnosed with cancer. I am just using 'tunnel vision' at the moment and putting one foot in front of the other and amazingly getting there. I try to rest as much as I can and have also tried to reduce other stress in my life by avoiding people and situations which are unhelpful as I just don't have the strength to cope with them. xx

I'm definitely avoiding any other people with issues at the moment, I'd usually be there but I just can't deal with it right now. The extra T3 is helping already, which is great as I don't get much time to rest right now.

I hope you have lots of support to get through your stressful time X x

You deserve a rant, Denise. It's all very stressful and I've read the need for extra T3 when under more stress, even the cold weather can be counted as additional stress for us and you have much more than that.

Lol thanks Heloise!

I think you're right and the extra T3 seems to have made a difference already, the pain has dulled and I have slightly more energy, hopefully it will help me to get through and support my mum. x
