Hi ,

The adrenal glands are composed of an inner part - the medulla, and an outer part called the cortex.
As far as I understand it Nutri Adrenal is prepared from the whole adrenal gland and thus contains all its constituent chemicals (amino acids, enzymes, maybe some hormones). One of these hormones is adrenalin which can cause some people taking it to get a bit twitchy/edgy. Adrenaline is manufactured in the medulla.
Adrenal cortical cell extract contains only those chemicals from the adrenal cortex (the outer part of the gland) - so no adrenaline will be present, thus avoiding its stimulant effects, but you still get the benefit of its action in manufacturing DHEA, pregnenolone, oestrogen testosterone etc
Hi Xanthe,
apologies for late reply. Wow, real helpful. Thanks.
Not been in position to follow thro' with Thyroid meds due nutritional issues. So been
on and off Nutrie Adrenal 4 years - too long! Could tolerate initially, now find even 1/4 tab
stimulatery.
My thoughts were Adrenaline, but two Thyroid Drs. laughed at that! Adrenaline can be 30 - 40% higher in Hypo States compensating Thyroid action. So I'm probably up there anyway - without added N.A!! But most seem to take and not aware anyone on the Extract.
Is the Extract stronger than N.A? Is it hormone free? Whats it called
Doctors have never mentioned it
My best and thanks again.
Penny
I don't know the names of any cortical cell extracts, I'm afraid!
