I have now decided to see a endocrinologist after four years my symptoms have got worse not better since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I have asked my GP to refer me to a private endocrinologist. Is this the correct type specialist to see.
New at this can anyone advise: I have now decided... - Thyroid UK

I suggest you get a list of private sympathetic doctors/endos from Louise.Warvill@Thyroiduk.org. At least then your money will not be wasted.
There are also some comments click on Hospitals at the top of the page then click Hospitals Survey and you may find an Endo who is helpful (some aren't).
I have emailed Louise to the address you gave but no reply as yet. Thank you

Hi Yes an endo is perfect , but like every thing good and bad. Do not rely on GP`s choice. You want one that listens, that is vital and is brilliant and cares, nice is best but not so important.Do all our research before asking for a referral. Always harder to see a second one! An endo, unlike a private thyroid doc will test for all the surrounding issues as they are all endo and also have a vast knowledge of how the body works.
Best wishes,
