Can low thyroid reverse by Itself?
Its certainly not unheard of, although usually where pregnancy is concerned, it is however uncommon otherwise. Hashimotos (auto immune) can swing back and forth, giving the impression that it may have reversed, but this isn't actually the case.
I dont know what RUH is, but unless there has been a recent pregnancy dont see what difference another 3 months could possibly make if you have already been diagnosed, other than for your levels to fall further, before starting treatment. seems a bit odd to me, but I'm a bit baffled by the logic of doctors half the time anyway.
Hi there, thanks for the reply· No, Im not pregnant, although trying to· The RUH is the hospital where the test has been sent to. According to doctor, the hospital recommended to get tests done again in 3 months to see if low thyroids would get back to normal without medication. This is upsetting me as it has taken them so long to tell me what is wrong and now the want me to wait another 3 months
Ask for your test results, lets see how highthe tsh is and whether you have low free T4.....
If you have thyroid antibodies, then the thyroid cannot get better on it's own and treatment with medication is needed.
Post the test results on here and it will be easier to suggest what you should do next....
