You might already know this, but in case not, you could ask for the list of private doctors from Thyroid UK. Simply fill in the form here and it can be emailed to you (during office hours).

Hi RedApple,
I get Armour Thyroid, T3 and B12 Injections on NHS. Ask your GP to check what they are allowed to prescribe. I am not the only patient getting these on NHS.
Hi tiredandemotional,
Yes we know that NHS GPs and endos are theoretically *allowed* to prescribe all these things. Unfortunately for many patients, what may be true in theory frequently does not happen in practise. Although they are allowed to prescribe, they can still choose not to do so.
For example, my GP is happy to prescribe desiccated thyroid, but the PCT refuse to fund it. Other GPs simply consider desiccated thyroid to be 'old fashioned medicine' and don't believe it should be used at all. Probably the biggest issue with the prescribing of desiccated thyroid is that it's an 'unlicensed medication', meaning the prescribing doctor has to take *personal* responsibility for prescribing, and many are not willing to do this.
You are clearly one of the fortunate patients with a more open minded GP
