Hi, I had bloods done in early Dec. and the TSH came back at 18.3 so the bloods were repeated on the 10th Jan. Today I have the results,As the TSH was 0.739 the lab didn't do T3 and T4. The antibody results are not back yet but the B12 iron and other results were all good. Why then do I feel so ill? Last week one day I was tried and cold, teeth chattering cold, that I was in bed by 8pm trying to get warm. My throat is swollen and I find swallowing hard so my GP is arranging ultrasound.
Has anyone else been through this?

Have a look at this link to hashimoto's. It clearly states that whilst the anti bodies are attacking the thyroid levels can swing from high to low. It also mentions a swollen throat and other symptoms.
Its good that your GP is being so careful with your treatment and is sending you for a scan which, hopefully, will give you the answers.
Thanks Clarebear and Moggie,I was worried about the exstreme difference in the TSH. My GP did increase my Levo from 125 to 150 (but I didn't take the extra, don't tell him. I wanted to see what the results would be first.) I have suggested Hashi. to him so on the results of the scan he may refer me.
Although you say your B12 levels were good, the Japanese medicate if your results are between 500-560. The UK's recommendations are on the low side. My hospital's range is (190-900) and 190 is quite a bit lower than the 500 of Japan.
