Before taking vitamin B12 and/or vitamin D supplements, it's advisable to get your levels tested, so that you have some idea of whether you need to supplement and how much to take. Your GP can do this, so would be a good idea to have a chat with him/her about it.
Hi before taking Vit D ,if low, it is important to check the calcium level. It is an electrolyte and altered by D, must always be in range. D should be increased slowly because of this and tested 3 months until stable , then annually. My endo advocates taking the best possible multi vitamin and minerals tablets. Normally it is not considered a good idea to take vit C as in lots of food.
