Need advice on taking nutri adrenal

I have just purchased some nutri adrenal as my cortisol blood test is very low. Have been on Eltroxin for 30years and wondered if it is safe to just start taking it or should i reduce my Eltroxin for a while before starting it. I am on 100mcg a day. Cant find any info on this anywhere. Am i being too cautious?

Hi, yeah might be an idea to lower your thyroid meds. I was on too much thyroid meds when I started my Nutri adrenal extra. I became very jittery after starting so stopped everything for a week or so and slowly built up the nax. I had to drop down from 1 nax to half for a couple of days. I'm now on 3 though :0)

Hi, you will definitely need to lower your thyroid meds before taking NAX or you will feel worse.T4 bulds-up in your system over time so you need a period of stopping or reducing before you begin the Adrenals.

I stopped taking T4 for 10 days before starting with 1 NAX and re-introducing T4 but at a lower dose of 75mcg initially compared to 125mcg. As I built up the NAX to 4 (2 morning, 2 lunchtime) along with Nutri thyroid to 9 a day (3 am, lunch and pm) I got the jitters so reduced the T4 to 50mcg. This was a year ago - today I feel sooooo much better, most of my symptoms have gone (or are under control) have lost a stone, and am now reducing the NAX to 1 or 2 a day, and the Nutri thyroid to 6.

Listen to what your body tells you and adjust as you feel better/worse. Don't expect to feel instantly better ... I found it to be a gradual process, and it was only after around 6 or 8 months that I realised I was feeling better, an started to lose weight.

Good luck :)
