I strongly suspect that nowhere near as many people will die from chlorinated tap water than would do if it were NOT chlorinated. :-)

Fairly typical DM responses - to an article about chlorination, half the responses are about fluoridation.

I think the articles were about allegies Rod, which quite a few people on here suffer with expecially wheat intolerance hence why I posted it.

Yes - allergies purportedly caused by chlorination of tap water - as well as other sources of dichlorophenol.

And that makes somewhat less sense of why the rate or allergy suffering appears to have risen - as I am not aware of any general change in chlorination of tape water over a similar timescale.

Certainly tricolsan is a questionable product - which Sainsbury seemed to think should be incorporated into chopping boards and other products.

I stopped using Colgate Total toothpaste because it has triclosan in it after I read a research paper linking triclosan to muscle pain

To get rid of chlorine in drinking water all you have to do is let it stand for 10 minutes. Chlorine is a gas and dissipates if left alone. Haven't used commercial toothpaste for years as it all contains fluoride.....

I can vouch for what they say about it being worse in the US. The water not only tastes awful, the smell of chlorine just about knocks you over. At least in the couple of places where I've lived.

I suppose if it's a case of E Coli etc or chlorine/fluoride, I'll stay with the bottled water :-) hmmm... then worry about the plastic bottles...
