Is my blood test results better ahead of seeing doc?

I have had my blood drawn 3 times in the last year. My tsh was only .01 the first test, then .04 the second and yesterday's was .1 (.4 to 4.5 scale) my FT4 and T3 have been mid normal and yesterday they were FT4 -1.3 (scale .8 to 1.8) and my T3 was 91 (scale 76 to 181). I did not take my Levo nor my Liothyronine before the test that was at noon. At least my TSH is coming back up a bit.

I have been on Prednisone for pmr for 4 years now, recently tapering to 1mg. My TSH for years on meds was always around 1.6 on just Levothyroxine. T3 was added around the time I came down with PMR but labs remained stable until recently. I am 82, fairly sedentary the last couple of years, sadly. My doc is not an endo so did not do the T4 nor free T3.

Free T4 (fT4) 1.3 pmol/L (.8 - 1.8) 50.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 91 pmol/L (76 - 181) 14.3%

Ft3 is falsely low as you left too long between last dose and test

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

how much Levo and how much T3 are you taking

Important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least annually

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Thank you SlowDragon! I'm taking 100 mcg of Levo and 5mcg of Liothyronine first thing when I get up in the AM. I did manage to convince my doc to test D, folate, ferr and B12 six months ago and they were good. Only taking basic supplements, C, D3, calcium, K2, B complex, magnesium, etc. but not consistently since I choked on one a few months ago. LOL And yes, I should have gone in earlier but that is hard for me to do.

I was just hoping for some guidance since my doc is actually a doctor's assistant and not an endo. She is great otherwise.
