from TSH to getting whole works done

I’m Hashi and short story is TSH has now elevated from ‘in range’ to 8.3 and got a text (!!) from GP saying up the levo to 125mcg. So I’m now paying privately for full thyroid panel inc antibodies, also paid for SIBO test, plus poo test, and hormone level test as felt so dreadful last few months which made me go get a GP blood test. Paid to have private ultrasound to check no fatty liver and why everything I do to help myself food wise is now not making a difference and still elevating levels. Still bloated and tired and achey. I’ve been GF for 7 years now, dog walk every day, tennis 3 times week. Ultrasound clear except for a 2.5cm gallstone which was prob because of naturally high cholesterol. So I’m trying to sort and don’t want to just keep upping the T4 meds from a GP text until I’m off the scale. I’d love to find root cause of why body suddenly reacted and elevated? Any ideas please. I’ll post my results from tests above when I get them but it’s cost me £1100 🤪

You will probably find your FT3 is far too low!

Every cell in the body needs to be saturated with T3 by way of a constant and adequate supply.

To become active T3 must bind with the T3 receptors at the nuclei of the cells......it remains inactive while sloshing around in the serum!

It sounds as if your T4 to T3 conversion is impaired....or perhaps not enough of the T3 in the serum is reaching the cell's nuclei

Low cellular T3 = poor health

Have you optimised vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin to support thyroid function?

However, until we have full thyroid labs we can only speculate

Make sure you test thyroid levels early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year

If taking any supplements that contain biotin remember to stop these 5-7 days before test

Come back with new post once you get results
