Instant result Ferritin tests

Hi, I am looking to get a Ferritin test done cheaply and I notice that it is now possible to buy home Ferritin tests which look a bit like Covid tests and give you a low/high/normal result (not a number). Has anyone used one of these? I have been diagnosed with low Ferritin (15) and have been eating lots of iron-rich foods since before Christmas. I would like to know whether it is working, but don't want to go to the doctor to get a test if I can help it, because I am taking Metavive in addition to my Levothyroxine, so my Thyroid results will probably upset them.

All I want to know is whether I am making progress with the Ferritin level or not. At this stage I'm not really interested in a numerical result. But on the other hand I don't want to waste my money if these tests are not worth doing.

I would advise using a proper blood test rather than one of those. Those low/normal/high tests wont tell you your actual level, do they even say what each of those levels actually are?

Ferritin results seem to vary considerably between labs anyway so it's best to stick to the one place to test each time. And iron isn't just about ferritin, if you are supplementing with iron tablets then you need to keep an eye on serum iron and saturation percentage too, so an iron panel that includes these as well is advised.

Medichecks to a fingerprick home iron test which is the full iron panel which you could do and it's £10 more than their ferritin only test. Also there is 10% discount off Medichecks tests when using code here:
