Currently taking 1500mg of Levothyroxine by Alums and not doing too well. Have been given this brand as Mercury Pharma out of stock. Has anyone had any reactions to the Alums brand before? Currently feeling drugged, itchy dry flaky scalp. Could this be an allergic reaction?
Many thanks

This brand is made by Accord, who rebox their tablets for Boots. They also rebox the same tablets for Northstar in 100mcg and 50mcg dose size tablets.
I assume you mean you are taking 150mcg not 1,500mg. Levo comes in mcg dose, there are 1,000mcg in 1 mg.
I would check out the excipients in your new brand and compare them to the previous brand, you might find a difference which may give a clue, perhaps you are having an adverse reaction to a different inactive ingredient.
Click on the yellow T4 tab under UK (first set of tabs), all UK brands are listed and each one has a link to the patient information leaflet which will list all ingredients.
I've been taking the accord brand for years, for me it's a case of the less ingredients the better and this brand doesn't have mannitol or acacia powder..
I think just the thought of changing brands makes me uncomfortable, in the last week having been on 100 mcg for years my blood results came back with a low score of t4, so now been prescribed an extra 25 mcg. I'm trying wockhardt, so far so good...
