hi all! I've been diagnosed with autoimmune thyroiditis recently. My thyroid Is overactive. I'm having tremors, head twitches, incredibly dizzy, skin irritations and bad bowels. I had some bloods done to check my b12, as they were thinking it may need supplementing. But it was well over what it should be at 990. anyone any idea why it's so high? I'm still waiting for a appointment 🙄. thanks

Were you previously hypo / taking Levo or newly diagnosed?

How long have you been overactive & what are your levels?

What are you TSH, FT4 & FT3

Haves TPO & TG antibodies been tested?

Also important to test folate, ferritin & vitamin D too.

Have you been given any thing to help with symptoms - such as propranolol?

An anti thyroid such as carbimazole is not used for Autoimmune Thyroiditis (Hashimoto’s) as the rise in thyroid levels are transient and not cause by the thyroid over producing but by the immune system damage the thyroid an destroyed cells releasing hormones stores.

Are you supplementing with B12 prior to test?

I had eye twitches around the time I was diagnosed, I found magnesium supplements helpful to prevent these.

Add any result and ranges please. (Ranges vary between labs)

Hi, thanks for the reply. My TSH fluctuates from 0.3-0.4 (normal 0.5-5) t3 3.4 (normal 3.1-6.8) , T4 14.9 (normal 5-12) . auto immune markers were very high. I'm still waiting for all my blood to come back, but the b12 was very odd. i haven't been put on any medication yet, only diagnoses. I'm waiting for my gp to call today to talk about the symptoms. I just feel all over the place . thanks for your suggestions ill try that.

FT3 3.4 (normal 3.1-6.8) 8.11%FT4 14.9 (normal 5-12) 141.43%

The FT3 is a often seen test range, but that’s a very low FT4 range. An FT4 range often starts at 12.

In your post a few months ago you gave same t3 3.4 results but another range -(0.9-2.8)

You must obtain the correct range and tests result for each test, otherwise the results are interpreted incorrectly.

If they are the correct ranges - something which is notable Is that your FT4 is over range and your FT3 is extremely LOW in range.

FT3 is mainly converted from FT4 so conversion is poor. First step to test nutrients to check they are not low as that could be explaining poor conversion. A recent test for Thyroid Function & nutrients might be helpful. Of GP refused to complete full test look at private options. (link to list of companies & money off code in your previous post)

Most would feel hypothyroid with such a low FT3 (as FT3 is the more powerful hormone) but your FT4 is high and that seems to be giving you hyper symptoms.

If FT4 & FT3 is under range you need levo replacement. Doctors tend to go by TSH, sometimes the TSH does not respond accordingly.
