New Facebook Group for Somerset & Gloucester thyroid patients

I am looking for people who were being treated with Liothyronine (T3) in Somerset CCG or Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucester CCG who had their T3 stopped or reduced. I have been submitting FOI applications and have uncovered information that shows BNS&SG CCG identified 100 patients who were on T3 and believe we were targeted with a view to stopping prescribing to these patients. It might be other CCGs did the same. Together we would have a stronger voice to challenge these decisions, by writing to MPs and the CCG for starters, so I have formed a new group on Facebook to do that, Somerset Thyroid Support UK.

We will also be pursuing better diagnosis, testing and care for thyroid patients, Liothyronine back on the prescribing lists and to not be treated like neurotic hypochondriacs! Looking for people to join me!

What a good Idea. Fancy moving to Suffolk and doing the same?

CaroleM-A .. brilliant! I hope it goes really well. I c0-lead the Norfolk group and we won our fight with the Norfolk CCG for T3. It isn't easy, but it definitely can be done!

Tythrop start your own group -it isn't hard with social media groups nowadays. See where the journey leads you.

There's more power in campaigning as a group.

Anyone interested in starting their own local group, join us on ITT Improve Thyroid Treatment group on Facebook, and we can suggest ways to do this.

I've just found your group on FB and applied to join. I've been advised here over the past 7+ years that I need T3....why haven't I got any? The process to get it is hard, especially when not feeling great....and then there's the issue of repeat prescriptions. It's frightening.

Not what you're looking for?
