Will my Vitamin D Home blood test (finger prick) get refused by Monitor my Health?

Vitamin D

Home blood test (finger prick) 🩸

Tried my best and was fully hydrated but only managed to get 400ml to send off not the 600ml requested from 2 fingers and 2 lancets

Will it get refused? I’m not doing that again! I would prefer to have blood taken like I have on other companies private tests.

Probably fine

In future this version only requires 4 drops

NHS easy postal kit vitamin D test £29 via

vitamindtest.org.uk

But is currently slow in getting results back

4 drops sounds much more manageable! It’s posted now so (bleeding) fingers crossed. Watch this space! X

Well I failed!!! Just had an error report from the lab! 🤦‍♀️The worst bit is that they have sent a replacement 😳😂

Ask them to exchange the vitamin D test for thyroid test?

Instead......Order the other vitamin D test

I’ve also had bloods properly taken at the hospital and sent off for the advanced thyroid screen for medichecks. Hopefully they will be ok!

I think I’d rather have bloods properly taken (even though it costs more!) or have less blood required on the finger prick tests x

Just post monitor my health test back and request money back then

Medichecks test will include vitamin D

Medichecks Advanced thyroid test includes vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

TSH, Ft4 and ft3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Book Test as early as possible Monday or Tuesday morning and post back via tracked postal service

Stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before all blood tests

If testing iron/ferritin stop iron supplements week before test

All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Hi snowdragon, do NHS offer other blood postal tests, apart from Vit D?

Considering that the 600ml microtainer will do 10 tests with Medichecks - TSH, FT4, FT3, thyroid antibodies, Vit D, B12, Folate, CRP and Ferritin, I imagine that if you managed to get 400ml for just the Vit D test there wont be a problem. They wont refuse it anyway, if the blood is viable they will test, only if the blood is damaged (from squeezing it out) or not enough will they not be able to do it.

I always use the dried bloodspot test that SlowDragon has linked to, so much easier and better, and that too is an NHS lab.

Thank you. Hopefully it was enough to work....it’s posted now 🤞

By the way I meant 4ml not 400! 😂

Can I ask who does the dried blood spot test please?
