Can Levothyroxine affect your gut flora?

Yes because being hypothyroid causes low stomach acid and poor nutrient absorption and low vitamin levels as direct result

Low vitamin D affects gut flora and B vitamins need good vitamin D too

Some levothyroxine contains mannitol. (Eg Teva brand)

Thank you Slow Dragon. I just wondered as i’ve had Hashimoto’s for over 20 years and had leaky gut a couple of years ago, which I keep under control through diet and supplements. I wondered if there was a direct link between Levo causing issue with gut flora?
