Itching Neck/Throat, Thyroid Area.

For a few days I have been experiencing itching on that area, so much so that I want to really scratch it.

It didn’t occurr to me until last night that it may be linked to a new pack of Northstar. I collected the prescription on March 1st. from a local pharmacy after online Echo sent me 3 packs of Teva that had to be changed at the chemist with a new prescription).

The boxes I was given have 2 different batch numbers and expiry dates. I opened and used the 04/2022 pack first without realising the difference in dates.

2x LOT:TA1934, EXP:04/2022

1 x LOT:TA1870, EXP:06/2021

So last night I didn’t take my usual 75mcg and took an antihistamine instead. I still feel itchy this morning and unsure of what to do next. Do you think I should start the 2021 pack or contact the chemist about it?

Northstar 50mcg and 100mcg are Accord brand

Northstar 25mcg is Teva

Many, many people can’t tolerate Teva brand

Yes I know, that’s why I complained about Teva and took it back when I picked this lot up. I found I was allergic to the acacia powder years ago and changed to Actavis. Northstar are Accord because I get the 50mcg size which is supposed to be the same formulation. As this itching has never happened before with them I wondered if it was down to the batch as it coincided with using the new packet.

Many people are convinced Accord tablets are different since changed name from Activis

Several people have contacted Barnstable office of Accord direct and raised it as an issue
