So folate and vitamin D are low

Ferritin is fine

Ft4 is high in range.

Was test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test?

Obviously no Ft3, so you can’t see how well you are converting Ft4 to Ft3

to be honest being back in october I simply can't remember, probably i did take levo before because i didnt know that bit of info back then.

Just testing TSH is completely inadequate You need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested

Many U.K. patients forced to get full thyroid testing privately

all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Is this how you do you tests?

cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

Vitamin D is too low at 58nmol

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Aiming to improve vitamin D to at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better

GP will often only prescribe to bring vitamin D levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol or even 80nmol

leedsformulary.nhs.uk/docs/...

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

But with Hashimoto’s, improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Folate is on low side too

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid) may be beneficial.

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus Super B is good quality and cheap vitamin B complex. Contains folate. Full dose is two tablets per day. Many/most people may only need one tablet per day. Certainly only start on one per day (or even half tablet per day for first couple of weeks)

Or Thorne Basic B is another option that contain folate, but is large capsule

IMPORTANT If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

Going strictly gluten free may significantly reduce anxiety and panic issues

Other things to help improve gut function

Daily probiotic

Fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi and kefir

Only add one supplement at a time or make one dietary change at a time ...otherwise you don’t know what’s helpful and what isn’t

Waiting 10-14 days after adding one supplement, before adding another

thanks for all the advice, i have purchased the igennus b complex and already have vit d liquid drops, just have to get magnesium and i'll have everything i think

Suggest you get TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested via Monitor My Health 6-8 weeks after adding last vitamin supplement

Then consider trying strictly gluten free, if not already on it.

Only do private testing early Monday or Tuesday morning and ideally post back via tracked 24 hour postal service

Come back with new post once you get results

Magnesium best taken afternoon or evening. Must be four hours away from levothyroxine

Calm vitality magnesium powder is cheap and easy to use. Good if tend to suffer from constipation

Igennus do magnesium supplements too

ok, all sounds good.. and thanks again, I have much to consider and a few things to change

Strictly gluten free diet likely to reduce anxiety

Obviously you are likely under medicated and on too low a dose levothyroxine

Definitely do bloods BEFORE considering adding propranolol

Propranolol lowers magnesium levels
