Hello everyone, has any of you been taken steroids for thyroid eyes disease? If yes could you please share your experience and could you please name steroids you've been taken? I'm on a waiting list to see endocrinologists, my eyes are still the same - puffy and ugly. I had my blood results after taking carbimazole for month. My blood results have improved, my GP was going to reduce my dose by half, but after quick consultation with endocrinologists I'm on the same dose 20mg per day. He also mentioned to endocrinologists about my eyes, endocrinologists suggested that steroids might be the option to reduce swelling.
I've said NO to steroids, only because I'm afraid of the side affect, which I have seen previously (not with eyes disease) ; swelling, shaking, mood swings etc.
Please help

I had very mild TED and was given steroids when I had RAI, I felt great on them so sorry when I stopped, no side effects at all.My hypo sister had severe TED and was on steroids for quite a long time, she was also ok, no side effects.
It was a long time ago so I'm not taking them now, I was given them when I had RAI as a precaution, I only had very mild eye problems, nothing really noticeabl. My sister was on steroids for her eyes for quite a long time, she had swelling and vision problems and although her eyes are now better they didn't totally go back to normal.
Hi, I was wondering for any updates on your eyes? Did they improve by time ? I also have one eye bulging and want to hear from someone as I am so depressed.
