RLC Labs have withdrawn Nature-Throid, Westthroid and WP Thyroid. All in one fell swoop! Help?

Can anyone help me find a good source of NDT or Liothyronine now that RLC Labs have withdrawn Nature-Throid, Westthroid and WP Thyroid. All in one fell swoop! I was then forced to return to Armour after many years, (despite the obscene price) and had a nasty reaction probably to one of the fillers - not sure. Now find myself between a rock and a hard place at the very moment I'm being called to have the covid vaccine. (I'm 70).

The past 14yrs, I have never been under the care of a prescribing doctor, I have been on my tod, always purchasing NDT from the supplier originally recommended by Dr P.

Any of you on the forum who know of a reliable source or a good private doc who can provide a prescription for NDT/T3/Compounded NDT or just somewhere I can buy it myself online, I'd really appreciate a PM.

Thanks.

Here's the RLC labs web page. rlclabs.com/ Looks as if they intend to produce Nature-Throid and WP Thyroid again, but no date given.

Recently I needed to get NDT (in UK), so have registered with a doctor from the ThyroidUK list of private doctors & practioners. She has been able to let me have a prescription which I have been able to fulfil using the ThyroidUK list of pharmacies.

I rang round several of the pharmacies to find out what was available and prices. Armour and Erfa were the only ones available (early Jan). Prices vary, but Erfa cheaper than Armour.

Hope that helps.

I've had the Oxford vaccine since being on Erfa - no problems for me (I'm 81).

Sorry, this site does some odd things with punctuation - RLC labs page is rlclabs.com

When you post a link, it must be followed by a space or a return (new line/paragraph). Otherwise the HU software doesn't recognise where the link itself ends and the next bit of your reply starts. :-)

You may not realise that you can edit, or delete, any posts or responses you have made here.

HealthUnlocked have produced some help for how to do this. You can find this here:

support.healthunlocked.com/...

When you edit the original post in a thread, you will also have the option to add (or remove) a single image. (To replace an image, remove the existing image, then add the new one.) This is the same process as writing a new post:

support.healthunlocked.com/...

I am pointing this out purely to ensure that you know your options. :-)

(If you make extensive changes, it is sometimes helpful to add a comment so that people can see that you have made changes.)

Thanks, helvella, that's really helpful. I hadn't discovered the Support section before.

Forgot to say, I edited your reply to add a space!

Hi Anthea,

Yes, I have the info pack from ThyroidUK as well. Perusing the private docs who will prescribe NDT's my hair stood on end when I saw what they are charging for a short online interview. I always thought Medical Doctors swore to 'do no harm'. My well-being is directly related to the health of my bank a/c.

Joking apart, I would be grateful if you could PM me the name of your private doctor or practitioner. I have been dithering over choosing the right one as previous experience with doctors including functional medicine and integrative doctors has been at least fruitless and at worst - traumatic.

Doesn't Erfa contain corn starch? Are you affected by it?

Many thanks for reaching out,

~Diana

The health/money angle is real IMHO and anyway I definitely relate to it. If trying to obtain the cure is worse than the disease ... It's all a delicate balance as I'm sure most here would agree with...

Yes, thanks, hipolion I am aware of Thyreogland ndt but do not have a prescribing doctor (yet). I wonder if you know one who'll do an online or phone consulatation? I'd be grateful if you'd PM me if you do.

I'm afraid you have to be seen by a German doctor who specializes in ndt's, they are a few on ht-mb.de

RLC didn't withdraw the product but suspended it pending production review - with many pharmacies withdrawing the affected batches - because FDA testing showed batches were as low as 89% potency. Which is too low. I was still able to source nature thyroid online via a NZ pharmacy although I think they'll be sold out now.
