Liquid thyroxine update

I finally got my Ten Pharma liquid thyroxine on Thursday afternoon after numerous phone calls and struggles. Only took ten days!!! Pharmacy have now ordered me in a supply which I can hopefully pick up next week🙏🤞. Starting feeling a little better, although I did not mention I am also suffering from long COVID having contracted it 6 weeks ago. Just to advise and not scare, the symptoms I had were none of the symptoms that the government and trace and trace harp on about! It started with overwhelming tiredness and aches all over my body. Itchy, sore eyes. No real temperature and no cough. I had/have an unquenchible thirst and didn’t loose my sense of taste and smell till week 2. The worst thing though is the horrendous headache. 6 weeks on I am still suffering with these, and the extreme tiredness. I work in a primary school and it is interesting to see how everyone’s symptoms are different. But the headache, tiredness and acheyness seem most prevalent. Hope this helps. Take care everyone x

Thanks for your post, also giving details of your clinical symptoms.

I hope these resolve quickly and that the usual headache tablets will work effectively.

Thank you for letting us know that you have sourced your Ten Pharma.

Thank you, also, for your Covid-19/Long Covid notes. They could be very helpful to others.

Many thanks for your help and advice. I have been told that my appointment will be in the new year for allergy patch testing 🤞. In the meantime.....sadly my fantastic doctor died suddenly a while ago and my new doctor I do not like! He is very rude and dismissive. Now I have finally got my medication sorted I want to start the new year looking after me! I had my levels checked a while ago, but had no feedback apart from the fact that I had to go back urgently as my potassium levels were high. Heard nothing else. Reading some of the articles on here I haven’t got a clue what my vitamin levels, thyroid levels are. I saw a lovely new lady doctor when I had my anaphylactic episode and am going to see if I can see her, but I need to know please what tests to ask for? Should I ask to be referred to an endocrinologist? I haven’t seen one for years, since I moved from London to Kent. Many thanks x

Potassium is something that can change very rapidly.

The usual ones people ask for include vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, iron. Whilst many others might be useful and interesting, they get progressively less likely to be done!

Urea and electrolytes might be sensible.

Regarding the high potassium result you returned, this should have been re-tested if it was flagged up as concerning. It can be an indicator of potential kidney issues, and can result in symptoms such as excessive thirst and fatigue. Thirst can cause headaches in normal circumstances, too. Hope that your symptoms will resolve soon.
