TSH@22.61
How much Levothyroxine are you taking? And why are you only taking it sometimes? Most people take it every day.
And based on your high TSH you aren't taking nearly enough Levothyroxine. If you were taking more your TSH would be lower, which is want you need.
In people who have healthy thyroids TSH is (very roughly) about 1 - 1.5, although it could be lower than that and still be healthy.
Thank you for your reply. I take 112 mg Everyday except on Sunday none and half on Wednesday noticed my bones would ached also yesterday’s appointment I haven’t seen my doctor for a year.
What a weird way you’ve been advised to dose! So equivalent to 88mcg a day (if I’ve done my maths more or less right).
You are indeed very undermedicated. What tablet sizes do you have? 50mcg/100mcg/25mcg? I think I’d immediately up my dosage to 100mcg a day for starters if I was in your shoes but would suspect you’ll need more than that eventually.
You're very under medicated. Get your tsh, t4 and T3 tested privately so you know what's what then post results, with ranges, on here, for advice. Don't know why your doc has kept you so under medicated for so long unchecked. I'd move docs.
Bloods should be retested again 6-8 weeks after you increase dose to 100mcg every day
Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine?
Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease? (Hashimoto’s)
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies......or especially when under medicated
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you do your tests?
Low vitamin D likely in Alaska
Thanks I will call my primary doctor for those labs get done. I had the Radio active four years ago and yes thyroid graves But that’s in remission now yes I noticed my thyroid is changed different manufacturing at one time I had to take vitamin D for three months but I didn’t know that till six months later what I noticed also is my heart is running low it will dro down to 25 and sometimes up to 185 I mentioned this to my doctor he said that doesn’t interfere with my thyroid.
Yes take the same dose amount everyday. You might have to take a lot more to get your TSH down. Also, there are vitimans and suppliments that can play havic with TSH levels. B3 is one of them. So if you are taking supplements, you can research on line if they impact thyroid levels.
Thank you. It wasn’t mentioned to take vitamins from doctor.
