Hi can anyone tell me if extreme thirst is anything to do with hashimoto's or thyroid.. I am not diabetic so it's not that. Today I am extremely thirsty despite the fact I have already drank 2 litres of water and the lump in my throat feels a little more prominent...its really weird because the lump in throat sensation changes sometimes worse than others....but I expect that is possible with hashimoto's.

I'm also quite fatigued. Fatigue is a part of my autoimmune liver disease, but this is a different fatigue. But it's difficult to explain unless you are in my situation. The muscles in my arms are a bit twitchy too and my arms and shoulders ache for no reason.

Any light on situation would be wonderful.

Thanks everyone.

You should get your calcium levels checked asap.

I would ask your doctor for a test of your electrolytes, including sodium.

You might find this thread of interest :

And another condition that might be of relevance although it is very rare, I think - diabetes insipidus. It has nothing to do with "normal" diabetes :

Another possible issue - Addison's Disease :

I'm sure there are many other causes of thirst. I've only listed the ones I'm aware of.
