Is Truvia in drinks ok?

Hi, another quick question, does anyone know anything about Truvia? I've spoken to my nutritionist about it and she says it is fine as just extracted from Stevia and erithrytol, so is not harmful like aspartamine/other artificial sweeteners. I have it in my hot drinks as I like the sweet taste and I think it gives me a psychological pick me up. Has anyone heard if it has any effect on hypothyroidism? Just trying to cover all bases with my diet at the mo. Many thanks

My understanding is that erithrytol passes through the body and isn't taken up by it, thereby avoiding the insulin spike. It's advocated by a number of practitioners, as is Stevia (which Dr Sarah Myhill says is ok, as well as Xylitol).

Therefore, it seems that it wouldn't have an impact on the thyroid - but this is supposition and others might know differently.

Thumbs up to the Redbush tea. Naturally caffeine free !

I have it in the morning so i don't get caffeine reducing the absoption on Levo.

I have got used to it now, and often prefer it to 'normalitee'

it's also called Rooibos.

My naturalpath doctor had me replace all of my artificial sweeteners with stevia. She also said monk fruit extract was okay. I've switched from my Coke Zero products to Zevia, which is quite expensive. It is quite sweet, but I'm hoping it will grow on me!

I'm wondering about trying to get off the Truvia and go without to see if that makes any difference to my weight, might be worth a try...
