Advice please on recent blood test

I have had a blood test by Medicheck and would like some advice as to the results, please. The test was done fasting, 8 hours after last dose of NDT. Compared to my blood test results in August, I seem to have improved, thanks to your advice. I am currently taking 1 1/4 grain of NDT, I tried taking 1 1/2 grains, but my heart started to thump very unpleasantly, so I reduced by 1/4 grain. I am feeling great, never felt better and my polymyalgia seems to be receding.

Here are the results :

Ferritin 78.6 ug/L range 13-150

Folate 10.43 ug/L >3.89

Vitamin B12 active 98.1 mol/L range 50-175

TSH 3.87 flu/L range 0.27-4.2

Free T3 5.73 pmol/L range 3.1-6.8

Free Thyroxine 13 pool/L range 12-22

Thyroglobulin antibodies 16.6 klu/L <115

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 9.93 flu/L <34

My ferritin was very high in August, but seems to have settled back to normal levels. I have never taken iron supplements and eat very little red meat, so have no idea why it was so high.

Thank you so much for your advice, it is crucial for me as I self-medicate, as my doctor is clueless.

Seems odd that your TSH is so high when your T3 levels are so good. Can't explain that one maybe someone else will know but with T3 like that yes I can imagine you feel great x

Looking at TSH only you would think you were under treated

But the other figures are all good and as you feel well.....stay as you are

Thank you so much. Should I try and increase my vitamin D levels? You always advise that they should be at the top end of the spectrum.

Hi, it is noticeable that your TSH is quite high, most people would not feel well on that and your free thyroxine is on the low side as well. But if you feel great than I would go by how you feel, at the end these values are just a guidance and how you feel is more important!

With regards to your ferritin levels that were increased previously, this could have been due to an infection or as a result of inflammation. For example when your CRP (c-reactive protein, usually measured as a marker of inflammation in the body) is high, your ferritin levels could seem much higher than they actually are.

Ahh, thank you for that. I do suffer from polymyalgia, which is slowly getting better, so that might explain why my ferritin levels have returned to normal. I only take 2.5mg of prednisolone now, before I was on 10mg.
