So frustrated! Dosing by TSH at endo clinic.

Third visit to endo clinic and saw yet another endo! (The third in 3 visits). He asked me how I was feeling and I told him I was feeling great. He told me he’d send me for bloods to monitor my TSH levels because if they were too low he’d have to reduce my dose. Alarm bells rang and I asked him if I was on 20 mcg of t3 would it not be expected that my TSH would be suppressed? He said no! Told me that low TSH was associated with osteoporosis so I asked him (very nicely!) how TSH affected bones and if a high TSH meant strong bones? (I’d picked this up from this forum). He waffled. I can see that I’m in for a big reduction this time! My TSH will be very low and won’t have been helped by an afternoon appointment. So frustrated and angry as the two previous endos were happy to go by my symptoms.

It is your body and your health. Ignore this stupid man - I bet he specialises in diabetes and not thyroid disorders. Absolutely refuse to drop the dose and ask if he would like a subscripton to Endicrine News for Christmas, as he is obviously not up to date with the latest research.

I’d love to ignore him but unfortunately he will write to my gp and instruct him about my prescription. Maybe I’m jumping the gun and things will be ok but I didn’t get positive vibes!
