Sudden drop in T3

Hi All - Ive another question today...

What would happen if I were to suddenly drop a large amount of T3 in one go - say 50mcg's? Would there be some sort of crash or would it be OK?

Why would you want to do that? That's a heck of a hefty reduction in T3. Dose changes of T3 are usually 5mcg at a time.

How much T3 do you take?

What are your most recent results (with ranges)?

I’m currently in 100mcg but I’m having super strong heart palps and I think I’m on too much now. I upped my dose 6.25mch 20 days ago but now it’s all too much.

If I stop one full tablet (25mcg) in one hit would that be ok?

My last bloods were in March.

If you were OK on the previous dose (6.25mcg less than your new dose), why not just drop back to the previous dose and see what happens?

Why did you increase your dose anyway?

I think I’m feeling overwhelmed. With it all.

I increased as I’ve gained 1 stone in 6 weeks and it’s freaking me out. I never loose weight and I’ve 3 stone to loose...

I’m scared of the heart palps.

Why not repeat your thyroid tests - TSH, FT4 and FT3. Do you have Hashi's? Have you tested antibodies before? Might be an idea to include them. Also what about Vit D, B12, Folate and Ferritin? Maybe do a Medichecks Thyroid Check ULTRAVIT or Blue Horizon Thyroid PLUS ELEVEN.

Not sure how to get the bloods done unless I see a Endo. I’m going to go to a new Endo as I’ve moved area so will find a new one .
