Going for tests this afternoon and wondered if I drink tea will it affect my result? I know coffee does but I forgot this morning and had a coffee but hopefully since it was 6 hours prior to testing it won’t have too much of an effect. I’m also aware that these tests should be done fasted so I had a small breakfast and won’t eat again until afterwards. But can I have a cup of tea? Sorry for all the questions. Still learning!

As the test is in the afternoon TSH is going to be lower than an early morning test. So if you want a cup of tea you might as well have one
As the test is in the afternoon, TSH is going to be at its lowest anyway so it probably doesn't matter what you do
I suspect that my meds will be reduced after the tests yesterday. The endo I saw told me that he was sending me for bloods and if my TSH was too low he’d adjust my dose accordingly. I asked him if it wasn’t to be expected that TSH was suppressed when on t3 but he said no. If it was too low it could lead to osteoporosis. I’m not hopeful.
