So I got my test results back and my TSH level is 1.03mu/L on a scale from 0.3-5.0
My free T4 level is 10.6 pmol/L on a scale from 7.9-16.0
I was not tested for total t4 or any t3.
I'm still sure something isn't right even if it's other hormones.
I don't smoke or drink. I'm a regular gym goer with a good diet and I'm 25 yet I'm 80kg/12 stone 8lbs. My feet are freezing always, I'm sensitive to cold and to pain. I can't shift any weight around my stomach and get constipation, gas and bloating. I suffer from eczema, get bruises and brittle nails. Mentally I get moodswings, depression, anxiety and just feel like.meh most days. Deep down I know something isn't right. Any words from anyone?

Is there any family members who suffer from hypothyroidism?
Low vitamin levels can be a cause symptoms, either due to thyroid problems or in their own right
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
If GP is helpful ask GP to test vitamin levels
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Hi there. I got the blue horizon plus 12. Hopefully I can get more answers. I don't find my GP helpful like I felt they just wanted to just be like okay next patient and didn't really want to listen to me. I feel if all my tests come out fine maybe to look at other hormones in my body?
Hi, based on your test results your TSH is about right as we like it at 1 or below, but the FT4 of 10.6 should be at 13 which is where you want it, so that's low on a TSH-FT4 ratio.
The best way to get your FT3 checked is to make this point/argument to your doctor is this
" if you don't test all of them how do either of us know if I'm converting properly" you cant that's why you should test em"
In addition you need your zinc and selenium tested as these are required for converting thyroid hormone FT4-FT3 also if adrenals are involved its zinc that's most likely low, if cortisol is high, hence why we can feel both tired and wired at the same time...
The bloating, eczema, and gas is most likely caused by low stomach acid, read up on it ie symptoms of low stomach acid or hypochloridia, you'll be surprised. A sign of low stomach acid is improperly digested foods in your stools.
on a standard blood test look at your MCV 'mean corpuscular volume" this is the size of your red blood cells, you ideally want it between 85-87 any higher indicates low stomach acid and B12
Vitamin D theres various opinions on where it should be depending on what you read, ideally you want it between 70-100 closer to 100, vitamin D does more than aid in healthy bones, it cleans dead debris from dead virus cells via cathelicidens and it's also cancer protective too, but also needs magnesium to mobilise it...
Hi there! Thanks for the numbers like I'm never too sure on what is good even though there is a range! Well I got the nurse coming on Wednesday to take my blood so I can send it off to blue horizon medicals and once I get my results back I'll post it on here. I'm doing the thyroid plus 12 so should cover a wide range!
