Hello! I am currently 4 weeks pregnant, following a chemical pregnancy last month.

I have Hashimotos. I am just wondering what I need to do to help support this pregnancy? I had my tsh tested and it's 1.3.

Thanks x

Sorry you didn't get any replies

This is an extremely busy forum

Obviously it's very important to test your thyroid and vitamin levels asap

When were B12, folate, ferritin and vitamin D last tested?

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I've just sent off medichecks full thyroid screening,so I can be more informed when I return to GP. I'll post results when they arrive x

Hi Whitney,

Congrats!

Keep an eye out on your Free T4 and Free T3 and probably increase your meds by half a grain if you are taking any.

First time I was pregnant, I miscarried (this was before diagnosis).

Second time I was pregnant, I didn't know I had to increase meds. Around the 20th month mark, my doctor said my baby was not growing in the womb, and that my Free T4 was low, and to increase my meds immediately.

If you can, I suggest you see a an OBGYN that handles high risk pregnancies.

Also test for Tgab and Anti-TPO. If they are high, they could attack the fetus.

Hello, thanks for your reply. The midwife has said she will refer me to a consultant to monitor my levels monthly. They have not yet increased my levothyroxine. The antibodies are my biggest fear xx

Starting your third trimester, they will give you nonstress tests to monitor the baby’s health in the womb. There’s not much you can do about the antibodies for now but they might increase your dosage in the second trimester.

Yes took advice from GP and the clinic x they just focus on treating tsh unfortunately and don't really focus on the antibodies x
