Adrenal Saliva Test Results. Advice on Supplements?

Results: AM 17 (14-25), Noon 3.8 (5.1-10), PM 1.3 (2-5), bedtime 1.3 (1.0-4). DHEA 118(106-300). I am not sure what to take to increase the cortisol level for mid day and evening?

Also if I can improve the cortisol level will this improve the thyroid results, increase energy and should I do anything about DHEA?

Optimal levels for cortisol are, according to web.archive.org/web/2018083...

• Morning at the top of the range - yours is 27% through range so it's low

• Noon approximately 75% of the range - yours is below range

• Evening close to 50% of the range - yours is below range

• Nighttime at the bottom of the range - yours is 10% through range so it's OK

I'm certainly not qualified to suggest any supplements when some levels are below range.

Have a look through the other examples in the link above and see whether you think Example 3 or 5 fits in your situation. This might be a case of discussing with an experienced practioner rather than a DIY fix.

I had low levels all round but not completely out of range for any of them, I found my DHEA has improved as my cortisol has improved.

Thank you for the link and percentages. When you say practitioner do you mean thyroid practitioner as on the list from admin at thyroid UK?

I don't know if a thyroid practioner will be experienced in adrenals, it's not necessarily their speciality. You may need to find a practioner who specialises in adrenals and TUK don't have a list and I have no personal experience so can't recommend one I'm afraid.

I think I will try myself to start as I have just seen a gastro, made an appt for the liver and am considering an Endo. So all too much at the moment. But thank you. Wish there was one person for it all! As am sure it is all connected.

SeasideSusie,

Sorry if you've already mentioned this, but can I ask what you've done to improve your adrenal function?

Adrenal glandulars and regular retesting. But mine were low across the board, not mixed results and definitely not below range.
