How to lower cholesterol and raise t3?

I’ve been adding 5 of lio to my 75 levo for several months but this has not raised my t3 nor lowered my cholesterol - which is 8. I find it impossible to take more t3 as I get head and ear pressure. Is it worth trying NDT? Or just lio t3? Or do I just try harder? Spread tiny amounts across the day?

I can live with my hypo symptoms - hips and leg pain - but I am concerned about the cholesterol really ,

Ideas and experiences of others appreciated.

I’ve just lost my nice Endo too .

Can't help with other bits but worth getting a referral to Tooting

Don't be concerned about the cholesterol. It won't do you any harm.

As for raising the FT3, are all your nutrients optimal? That's sometimes a reason we can't rais the dose.

I'm not sure that splitting a dose of only 5mcg would help. Or did you mean try another 5 mcg at a later time? That might help. :)

Thanks. Yes might try 50 levo and 10 lio split.

That statins article is absolutely brilliant - thanks. I would never take statins but that has convinced me not even to worry about the level.

Wow! My doctor tried to put me on statins a few years ago, I refused, as I'd researched. I hadn't seen your article though, Greygoose - great to have even more confirmation, thanks so much!

Many people, have to take T3 as 2 or 3 doses per day

Have you tried adding 2nd 5mcg dose of T3 8-12 hours later

What's your FT4 result?

TSH?

What are your most recent vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 results and ranges

What vitamin supplements do you currently take?

My tsh in nhs test is 0.77 and in medichecks doneat same time is 1.17 - so ok. Ft4 had gone down from 19 to 15 over the months on t3 but that was to be expected I think. (Ranges usual ones). I am a bit on low side folate so am supplementing.

Any thoughts on pure T3 or NDT?

So you might benefit from small increase in Levothyroxine too

FT4 15 (12-22) - is only 30% through range

But only add Levothyroxine or T3 at any one time

Retesting 6-8 weeks after each dose change

I tried I tried splitting my doses and now take some early morning some late afternoon to smooth it out and it helped with the side effects of too much at once then withdrawal. Obvs your body needs to get used to this so give it a go for a while and see if it ends up working for you before giving up. Good luck!
