Asking for referral to Endo

Well.....I don't think that that my GP is too happy with me at the moment. I forwarded him a copy of the DIO2 laboratory report as well as the Dr Peper Paper on genes being part of the problem for not fully converting T4 to T3, along with my latest medichecks thyroid panel. I don't think that for one minute he is going to refer me willingly...

Sooooo frustrating, even when the facts are staring them in the face, they still don't get it. Thank God I am still going to the functional medicine appointment next month!!!

Hi, me again...before anyone says anything, I mis-typed the MD's surname, it should read Pepper, not Peper. Sorry

Have you got the list of recommended thyroid specialists who will prescribe T3 from Dionne at Thyroid Uk

There are a few on NHS. Largely it's about money

Morning, yes I have the list but there is no one remotely close to where I live. My GP will just simply refer me to the local hospital Endo....I know that it is a fool's errand and will get nowhere with a T3 prescription request, but just jumping through the hoops, crossing T's and dotting i's. Like I said, will have to self source it. I'm anything but naïve, quite the opposite

New NHS England Liothyronine guidelines July 2019 clearly state on page 13 that TSH should be between 0.4-1.5 when treated with just Levothyroxine

If remaining unwell on just Levothyroxine a trial of addition of small dose of T3 should be offered

Note that it says test should be in morning BEFORE taking Levo thyroxine

Also to test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

sps.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploa...

BTF link saying trial of T3 should be offered

Hello again. My last TSH in July was 0.015 so very low indeed plus I have the DIO2 result aswell. Thank you for the additional info. I know before I even get the Endo appointment, I will be fighting a losing battle because either the Endo won't have a clue what the DIO2 test is or what it is about or will be so rigidly following their own guidelines from the Care commission and NICE gthat they will dismiss be put of hand!! Like I said, I know what is going to happen before it happens, hence why I am still going to s functional medicine specialist in September.

These results show your vitamins are still terrible

Presumably working on improving them

Following on from my last reply. Knowing that a GP referral to the Endo is going to take at least 3-6 months, it gives me tonnes of time to continue improving my vitamin levels. What are your thoughts on something called Adrenalux, a herbal supplement for the adrenal glands???

Personally I would steer well clear of anything that messes with adreanals. Other than good quality daily vitamin C

Adrenals should settle as thyroid improves.

You would definitely need to do saliva cortisol and DHEA test first

But getting vitamins optimal and strictly gluten free diet is often enough to slowly settle adrenals

A gluten free diet is out of the question as I have been nothing but violently ill on 100% gluten free and vitamin C badly affects my eczema.

Thank you for your answer though.
