Hi guys,

As anyone had a stool analysis for parasites and faulty gut biome? if so, was it helpful and which company did you use? I'm guessing the NHS won't do it.

Thanks

hello yes! - I'm just about to post about this - after all my tummy issues hashimotos i asked my GP to test me for Heliobactor pylori. I just had a stool test and was positive !!!

I have H-Pylori finally i have got a root cause. its amazing finally i know what caused my stomach issues. i believe I have had it for years and it triggered my hypothyroid.

Right then - I will be asking my GP for the test next week at our appointment. It's to discuss antibody results, so I may as well have a go and ask for this test too.

I'd like to know more about biome imbalances, but the private tests are quite pricey. But knowing if I have H-pylori would be a very good start.

Thanks

oh my gosh im in same situation - so my nutrionalist said i should still do the £500 test that throughly tests the gut. I spoke to her to her at length and i'm still considering to do this test because of the detail and I would benefit from it.

£500 seems high for a full microbiome test. My recent, detailed research indicated prices up to ~£360 and the one I selected, from 5 options, costs that. No hpylori in my results (Ive had 3 to-date) but note comments from their website below:

"Q-Polymerase Chain Reaction analysis not only has the ability to identify H. pylori, but also the CagA and VacA strains and specific antibiotic resistance genes that identify the most appropriate treatment options. Co-infections and other dysbiotic problems can also be identified".

Of course, most/all of the companies require a practitioner to send results to so that's likely to cost a further ~£60. Maybe you included that in the £500 estimate?

Yes that’s included

Yes, that's the sort of price I saw.

which testing company did you use? or did you go through a private GP? I've been looking on Medichecks, Regenerus, etc.

I will pm you so as to avoid seeming to "recommend" anyone. But my survey followed my extensive

research, no pte GP etc

When I had private endoscopy (confirmed gluten intolerance) they tested for H pylori - it was negative

Did you get anything else tested for - gut biome imbalance and/or candida overgrowth? Or was it just H pylori you suspected?

just H- pylori. I shall ask about other testing. It think i am going to the detailed private stool test which is pricey but i reckon it would be useful so you know exactly whats happening.

Do your research as to the company you use - they can vary. Check they do an analysis for you ...
