Hi all, an update on my thyroid journey.

I seen a different endo and he has started meon t3. He has started me on 5mcg twice a day but I dont feel any different as yet

My Tsh had gone up to 7 again and most days I couldnt get out of bed. Dont know whats going on with levo but just doesnt seem to work as good anymore.

I heard teva is in trouble after a fire and are struggling to get ingredients for stock, anyone confirm this.

Are your vitamin levels optimal?

For Levothyroxine or T3 to work we need good levels of vitamins

Bloods need retesting after 6-8 weeks on T3

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also extremely important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if Thyroid antibodies are raised

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or all vitamins

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have special offers, Medichecks usually have offers on Thursdays, Blue Horizon its more random

Are you on Teva Levothyroxine?

If so are you also on Teva T3?

Yes bloods were optimal for vits just thyroid issues. Just have low, low energy. Feel really burned out. Legs feel heavy and have no energy in them. I feel so weak. Struggling to keep eyes open.

So are you lactose intolerant and on Teva T3 and Teva Levothyroxine?

Essential to test thyroid levels retested after 6-8 weeks

TSH is almost always suppressed, essential to test FT3 and FT4

How much Levothyroxine are you currently taking?

Was this reduced when T3 was added?

If so, by how much?

It may be that FT4 is now dropped too low

Many of us find we need good levels of FT4 and FT3

Reducing Levothyroxine can cause FT4 to drop too low

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

My T4 was uped too by an extra 25mcg every other day. Now a week into combination therpy im starting to feel bit better. Constipation is better on the days I take the extra T4 so im taking 125mcg/150mcg T4 once daily and 5mcg T3 twice a day.
