That does happen in Graves. Stress is the trigger. One immediate remedy is to just take a step back and breathe deeply. That might help. Over the long term, learning to manage the stress and making changes to accommodate stressors, will help.
When I was first diagnosed, I continued living as I did, and within 3 months of diagnosis and starting carbimazole, everything came undone and I suffered my first relapse. I had not made the necessary lifestyle changes nor improved my diet nor managed my stressors, and the Graves body, reacts very differently to stress. Where the pre-Graves body would have been able to take the stress effects, the Graves body will act out.
Ling is right - Graves symptoms are triggered by anything stressful. Same happened to me before my TT 4 months ago. I was on Tapazole for 2 years.
You may wish to try meditation - there are lots of good videos on mindfulness on You Tube and books as well . It really helps - it helps your body learn deep breathing and it will relax on its own once you train it.
