Vitamins in soft gel alternatives - taking a separate oil capsulue

I have noticed that it is suggested that as Vitamin D and Vitamin K2 are fat soluble vitamins then the soft gel version might be a preferable. I have tablet versions and was wondering if taking an Evening Primrose Oil capsule with them would help especially when a fatty meal is not available.

Fat soluble vitamins mean the body retains them in the body. I would prefer gels as they are easier to swallow. Some capsules are covered with colours and metal like titanium or hard gelatine. I take D3 the sunshine vitamin as a small white tablet. D2 is found in dairy, meat and in margarine and fatty fish. D3 is sometimes scarce if you don't have sunshine to convert the vitamin in the skin and in the tissues. If you have skin problems you may have to keep out of the sun. Don't think it will make any difference if you prefer the oil capsule to the gel.

Personally, I wouldn't take the tablet version. Not only will it have excipients needed to make the tablet (I avoid as many as I can), you need to provide the fat separately, more so than with softgels.

An excellent softgel, with just 2 ingredients - D3 and extra virgin olive oil - is Doctors Best and it's a very good price (shop around, compare prices on the internet - Bodykind or Dolphin Fitness are good) for such a good quality supplement.

And a liquid K2-MK7 which is all oil is an excellent and relatively inexpensive way to buy this supplement (considering it's not a cheap supplement)

The bigger size is better value.

It might be better to consider changing to these rather than buying a good quality Evening Primrose Oil.

I take liquid D3/K2. It’s in organic olive oil and organic peppermint oil. Tastes great and easy to control or change dosage as needed. You can also get it without peppermint oil but I’m not sure how that would taste. I like this one:

Vitamin D3 with K2 Liquid Drops, All Natural, Non GMO, 1208IU D3 and 25mcg K2 (MK7) Per Serving, Strengthen Bones, Boost Immune System and Energy Levels, with or Without Peppermint Oil amazon.com/dp/B014K3H73A/re...

I think it is the quality and the dosage that matters. Many are very low dosage.
