i don't know thalassaemia and hyperthyroid are related. I know that iron infusions for blood disorders can make you hypo. Could you also have autoimmune thyroid disease, which releases excess hormone into the blood following an attack? A study showed that it was unusual to have high antibodies and thalassaemia, but not impossible.
